Q: How much of each type of ammunition will I need?
A: Round counts for the East Coast match are as follows:

  • 125 shotgun (birdshot)
  • 200 rifle (25 of which should be long range)
  • 175 pistol
  • 10 buckshot
  • 10 slugs

Remember, these are approximate rounds counts.

Q: What equipment will I need?
A: These are a general outline:
We will have Loaner Rifles and Shotguns at each stage.

You will need a carbine – generally an AR-15. You should have approximately 90 rounds capacity in magazines.  The only calibers permitted are .223/5.56/7.62×39.

You will need a shotgun, 20 gauge or larger. The majority of the competitors will be shooting a semi-auto but a pump shotgun is certainly permitted.   You should plan to be able to carry 25 rounds shotgun ammo at the start of a stage depending on the final stage designs. Many ladies are willing to share, so don’t be afraid to ask!

You will need a modern centerfire pistol – and approximately 45 rounds magazine capacity. The pistol rules generally allow modifications up to the USPSA Limited Division. They must be 9mm or greater.

Of course, don’t forget the basics such as hearing and eye protection (even for spectators).

Q: What rules are you using?
A: We will be using the our own rule set

Q: What class should I shoot in?
A:  The class you shoot in will be based upon your firearms and your gear. The full explanation can be found in the 3GN Regional Series rules in Section 7.

Q: Can you briefly explain the classes?
A: Yes, we sure can. These are not complete. Please see the rules for the most accurate descriptions.
